Destination: Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Feb12

Choosing the right Honeymoon destination can be fun, but intimidating. Do you go classic and spend it somewhere warm and beachy, or do you go someplace exotic and less well known? Well, we're here to expand your horizon and find the destination that is truly you.

Every week we feature a new location that you may not have considered to spend the first few weeks of your new life.

This week's destination: Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France

Located in the southeastern France, just between Monaco and Nice, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is known to be the home of some of the loveliest climates in all of Europe. It has become a hotspot for those looking to live in the lap of luxury, and it's a quick shot from this getaway to the more well known areas like Monte Carlo and Monaco.

Suggested Activities:

  • Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat - This breathtaking hotel is often mistaken for a palace because of its marvelous white exterior and grandiose features. Many American Presidents and foreign diplomats have stayed here during their tenure in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
  • Le Zoo Parc du Cap-Ferrat - For the perfect afternoon of animal watching and fauna exploration, this park is definitely a must see. Over 300 species of creatures roam semi-free throughout an expansive collection of Mediterranean and tropical vegetation.
  • Villa Ile de France - A modern day mansion decorated with the treasures of baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild. The best part is that visitors are welcome to explore the palace!
  • A Walk Down the Promenade Maurice Rouvier - Said by some to be the best way to explore and see the entirety of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The red tarmac takes you on a trip, about a kilometer long, across the coast of the city and down into the beaches.
  • Port de St. Jean - A small port located in the heart of the city. In a relaxing and tranquil environment, visitors are able to take part in a variety of watersports like fishing, sailing, and scuba diving.
  • Beaches of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat - With three main beaches (Paloma, Passable, and Cro de Peï Pin ) there are plenty of sunbathing options for the honeymooners looking to relax. Each beach offers a different view of the ocean and island, and each deals with different climates - so there's no doubt a beach for everyone!
