Wondering who to hire? A member of the OurWeddingDay.com Team got married recently, so we thought we’d share with you his unique perspective of a groom, who happens to work in the wedding industry, on videographers.
My only regret from my wedding day is that we decided against hiring a videographer. When we were planning our wedding and deciding on what we could cut to keep within our budget, the videographer seemed like an obvious choice. Have you ever watched someone else’s wedding video? It’s boring (especially if you weren't even there)! And worse still, the happy couple will inflict the boredom on you every time you visit them for the next year. We never thought we would be the "kind of people" who would watch a video of our wedding. We hired a great photographer and were convinced that stills were going to be better memories than a long movie.
(more after the jump...)
But your wedding day will go by quickly and before you know it, the happiest day of your life is behind you. The only thing you will talk about for the next few days is your wedding day. You will both have different perspectives on the day and the ONLY thing you want to do is replay the memories. If only you could see what your guests saw! You would pay anything to see yourself walking down the aisle. Your groom will be falling over himself to watch his speech (the chances are, he won’t remember any of it).
It’s then that you will realize the extra cost of hiring a videographer is worth every penny. Just make sure you do your homework and don’t book someone who will have a camera in your faces all day. Just remember, while you will want to watch it again and again, that doesn't mean your friends will...

Good advice, I did not hire a videographer and now I am second guessing myself. My wedding is in a month and I don't know if I have time.
