Tis the Season….Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  During this time, brides may get so caught up in planning that they neglect their health and beauty.  Here are some quick simple tips to look your best:

  1. Beauty comes from within. Drinking plenty of water is essential.  Not only will water hydrate you and help you sustain your energy levels, but will flush out toxins, creating vibrant, soft skin.  Drinking water also helps you loose weight by filling you up.  Drink a glass before you eat, and you will consume fewer calories.
  2. Exercise is equally important. You don’t have to train for a marathon, become an equestrian show jumper, or hit the gym for hours each day.  A simple twenty-minute walk will energize, give you a healthy glow, and burn calories.  Exercise is an essential part of your emotional and physical well being.
  3. Proper skin care is as vital as taking care of your body. Skin care products are very similar to prescriptions.  An otherwise effective product can actually have damaging effects if it is not appropriate for you.  Salicylic acid is a fabulous treatment for acne.  However, salicylic acid is a derivative of vitamin A (aspirin).  If you are allergic to either, salicylic can make your condition worse or make you sick.  If you are unsure as to what products to use and don’t have time to consult with a dermatologist or aesthetician-keep it simple.  Use a cleanser and toner for sensitive skin and a water-based moisturizer morning and night.
  4. Make sure to get eight hours of sleep per night. The additional stress, alcohol consumption and work & social commitments will take its toll.  The right amount of sleep will nourish your body and mind, help repair cellular damage (cellular turnover will be less sluggish with more sleep) and keep you alert and energized.  This all translates into looking vibrant for the holidays and your wedding!
