So we've all discussed vintage hair styles but perhaps we've glossed over the most important part: the dress! Check out this gorgeous wedding dress Sarah wore on her big day. The lace detailing is stunning and matches perfectly with her simple, chic chignon. What do you think of her dress. Is it too vintage (if that's even possible)? Would you go for something more modern?
Entertainment Weekly has just posted a great photo gallery of famous weddings gowns shown on both film and television. They cover everything from the newly released Bride Wars (yes, we're going to see this tonight and yes, we will be recapping it Monday for you), to The Sound of Music and Funny Face.
All we can say is we are glad they included Audrey Hepburn. And as a sidenote, could Amy Adams be any cuter in Enchanted?
Stay tuned for Monday's warring Bride Wars recap...
Sometimes you just can’t take the geek out of the bride- or groom-to-be.
So why force it? Go with the flow and find the perfect wedding accessories to fit your love of all things geeky. We found these rings on Etsy and love their nerdiness. They feature the word "love" hand-stamped in binary code!
Now all you need are some light sabers and maybe invitations printed in BASIC…
Now they're becoming hot again for fashion-forward brides to wear on their big day. Check out this article, filled with fun photos, about how feathers are "so out, they're in"!
Hot designers are taking cues from the likes of Madonna, Cher, Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker and more and creating styles that are ultra-glam and ultra modern. See what all the fuss is about here, and let us know if you think feathers really are "back"!
Page Six is reporting that bridal designer Gabriella Risatti will knock off 30 copies of the Vivienne Westwood wedding dress that Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wears in the Sex And The City movie.
You know, the one Carrie wears when she's stood up at the alter. Maybe the dresses will be luckier for other brides.
Oh, and it doesn't even come with the infamous bird-y hairpiece.
Raw diamonds are getting a lot of attention lately, and we see why!
What are they?
They have never been heated or cut and appear in their natural state
They cost a lot less than a traditional diamond
The shape and look is unconventional without being "too modern"
They're a great conversation piece
Raw diamonds are the perfect balance to this economic recession. Not only is money saved, but you're almost certain to have a ring unlike any of your girlfriends.
Etsy seller kateszabone makes gorgeous handmade jewelry and uses plenty of raw diamonds (in a variety of colors!) in her pieces. Our personal favorite is pictured above, but she has much more to choose from - including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more
Life Magazine has always incredibly well-known for their photographs. One of the premier publications that documented American living, they highlighted everything from girls dancing in poodle skirts, to the highest of high-fashion celebrations taking place across the country.
Now they'll fascinate and inspire you all over again.
Google announced today that they are now going to host all of the images from Life on their website, and that's where we've been all morning, looking at the most romantic and opulent weddings over the years.
Check out the elegance of Grace Kelly, who married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. It's hard to beat the fairytale wedding of a movie star becoming a real life Princess!
Check out the Google for more photos of classic and elegant weddings. Jackie O anyone???
Over at Entertainment Weekly's site they have a fun slideshow of "9 Wack Wedding Dresses" in pop culture (no one's REAL wedding dress. That would just be mean. maybe.)
Sarah Jessica, Mariah and Katty Perry all make the cut. But come on, Madonna on MTV circa 1984!?!?! That was cool, wasn't it? Anybody?
