Every party has its share of no-shows, and the same will be true of your wedding. Even though it’s the most wonderful day of your life, there will always be guests who, despite good intentions, simply can’t make it. When you’re planning your reception, you should assume that 10-20% of your friends and loved ones will RSVP “no.” However, before you slash the same amount of money from your budget, you need to factor in some considerations... "Being stuffed into a tiny suit or itchy, flouncy dress and asked to behave like an adult for a full day is pure torture for antsy youngsters.
"For some brides a sudden burst of tearful protest from an infant is just a reminder of the familial love surrounding them on their special day. For others and their guests, even soft cooing from a baby is distracting and annoying. Your wedding guests want to hear the vows you and your new partner in life will recite on your wedding day, so what to do?"
Even though it’s your wedding day, you’re not supposed to “fire” someone in your wedding party, whether it’s a restless Flower girl or your Maid of Honor. However, there are times when a situation is so unpleasant or unavoidable you need to do some major downsizing. Check out the full article for how and when to make the final decisions.

"A new study found that rates of marriage outside the faith were sharply curbed among young Jews who have taken "birthright" trips to Israel, a development that could hearten Jewish leaders worried about assimilation...
"While past studies have found that trip participants return with a greater appreciation of their Jewish roots, a study to be released Monday by Brandeis University researchers is the first to suggest that the trips also affect marriage behavior. Its results showed that 72% of those who went on the trip married within the faith, compared with 46% of people who applied for the trip but weren't selected in a lottery."
Nowadays, many brides have two bridal showers, one on the conservative side for close friends and family, and one geared more for the gals. The advantages are plentiful: Should you want to spend time with, say, relatives you’ve known since childhood, but think they would feel out of place at a wild-party shower, having a separate shower for them satisfies all involved.
Because for many brides-to-be, the "wedding diet" is a part of the wedding planning process, we've discussed crazy sounding diets before... but The Cookie Diet just won't go away.
The Cookie Diet, in which you live off 1 small meal and 6 cookies a day, has already won itself celebrity fans, imitators and a recent write up in The New York Times:
"The Cookie Diet is very appealing, because it legalizes a food - the cookie - that is banned from most weight-loss programs," said Jenni Schaefer, author of "Goodbye Ed, Hello Me: Recover From Your Eating Disorder and Fall in Love with Life" (McGraw-Hill, 2009).
"The diet gives people a false sense of control, simplifying balanced nutrition into one food: the cookie," she added, however "[T]here are no clinical studies on any of the diets and that a key ingredient in Dr. Siegal's cookies - special amino acids, which supposedly curb appetite - is known only to Dr. Siegal and his wife.
"It's the particular mixture of proteins that does the job," Dr. Siegal said. "All foods do not handle hunger the same way, and high protein foods curb hunger." The cookies, he said, contain protein derived from meat, eggs, milk and other sources. They also contain microcrystalline cellulose - a plant fiber that acts as a bulking agent, emulsifier and thickener - and are sweetened with sugar."
