The wedding day is the “bride's day,” but at what point should she no longer be accommodated? It's a question that bridesmaids (sheepishly) ask us a lot.
Watch any of the Bridezilla episodes and you will know what we are talking about. But then, we also kn ow that no one thinks that they are a Bridezilla. Check out part 1 and part 2 in our series on the subject, and see if it applies to you!

Over at The Art of Manliness, a fun and well-researched blog "dedicated to uncovering the lost art of being a man," they just posted an interesting article: A Case for Marriage.
They provide 6 reasons men should "grow up, man-up, and stopping being scared of walking down the aisle."
It's a fun read and an interesting perspective. Since it probably doesn't apply to your groom, maybe you have brother, uncle or male friend who you should forward it to!

If you ever get stressed out or annoyed with your groom while planning your wedding, think about Amy Taylor and her husband. Celebrate the fact that you are not them. Because they're nuts, and your marriage is going to be so much better.
It just goes to show, once again, that marriage should not be entered lightly: A British couple who married in the Second Life virtual world are heading for divorce after the wife, Amy Taylor, allegedly caught her husband having virtual sex with another Second Life character.
From the CNN article: "...Taylor told the Western Morning News she had subsequently hired an online private detective to track his activities: 'He never did anything in real life, but I had my suspicions about what he was doing in Second Life.'"
Taylor is now in a new relationship with a man she met in the online roleplaying game World of Warcraft(!)

Not all wedding planning advice is created equal.
We don't like to be mean; wedding planning should be a celebration! But let this serve as a little reminder to you that if someone offers you wedding planning advice that sounds crazy, even if they're and "expert," trust your instincts and get a second opinion.
Check out this article on "recession-proofing your wedding" to see what we're talking about. We know that budgets can be tight, especially lately, but that doesn't mean that some of the loony things that article suggests makes any sense.
Sharing your reception site with another wedding simultaneously!?!
Having a pot-luck dinner!?!

Time Magazine published an interesting article this week titled, "Postnuptial Depression: What Happens the Day After." It explores what most folks refer to as the "wedding day blues" or the range feelings that newlyweds sometimes experience immediately following their ceremonies.
Experts and brides agree that these feelings can be as simple as boredom once all the high-intensity planning is done or to more deeper issues like transitioning into a new life with someone new and the mundane routines and rituals that follow.
They write, "...once the Big Day has come and gone, couples are suddenly forced to step out of their much-cherished, and often long-lived, "bride" or "groom" spotlight and just get on with real life."
What do you think? Is postnuptial depression real? Or do you have any ideas for preparing or coping? Check out the full article and share your thoughts with other brides.
