Renting wedding day jewelry is the latest trend in bridal fashion, and it's no surprise: Just because you're planning your wedding during a recession doesn't mean you have to downplay the glam!

Ever watch those Hollywood starlets stroll down the red carpet wearing jewelry so fabulous it really does make them seem ethereal? On your wedding day, you too can wow the crowd with a to-die-for diamond necklace, a dazzling gold bracelet, or maybe some emerald earrings as stunning as you are. If you’re worried that expensive pieces are not in your budget, you should know that it’s not in theirs either.

Is the Engagement Chicken Myth True?

According to Glamour Magazine, there is a specific roasted chicken recipe that, well, helps you get engaged! It all started when an editor at the magazine gave the recipe to an assistant who made the delicious dish for her boyfriend. Within a month, she was engaged! As the recipe was passed around from assistant to assistant, the weddings had been sparked!

Could it be too good to be true? The magazine claims that over 26 engagements (that they know about) relate back to a certain chicken dish that was made in the not-so-distant past. And just this very month a Glamour writer for the popular blog "Smitten" got engaged post-chicken roasting.

So while all of our OurWeddingDay.com brides may already be engaged (congratulations by the way!) surely there are friends out there in relationships who also want to get engaged. And who enjoy roast chicken.

Think charming weddings on a budget can't also be fashion-forward?

Lawren Howell recently shared with Vogue her wedding ideas, and one of them was a gorgeously simple natural bench from Party Rental Ltd.

Says Lawren, "Long benches for the ceremony not only look great, but they seat more people (and cost less money) than renting chairs."

Finally something that the high-gloss, high-fashion of Vogue and casual, classic Americana of Martha Stewart can agree on! We love it!

Caroline and her soon-to-be husband had an inspired idea to capture their wedding day. They rented three Super 8 video cameras and gave them to their friends to document the expierence.

It resulted in a compilation of lovely images that capture the feeling of an amazing day. Check it out!

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that "new economic realities are now further shaping couples' priorities," and that more and more couples are requesting cash for their wedding present.

They even quote a disgruntled groom, who asks: "What the hell are we going to do with a $400 stand-up mixer?" He and his bride live in a small one-bedroom apartment in New York. "Everything we get for our wedding is doomed to spend at least three years in her parents' garage."

The WSJ contines to comment on the "right" and "wrong" ways to request cash.

What do you think? Do cash gifts seem less special or romantic? Is it always tacky to request cash? Is cash more practical?

How much do you love your groom-to-be? More than you love your first cup of coffee in the morning? More than Cleopatra Ptolemy VII loved Julius Gaius Caesar, and then Mark Anthony? More than a bag of Skittles with excesses of greens and yellows (arguably the best flavors)?

I Love You More Than Blank is a website created with the sole purpose of expressing how much you love someone, but in a somewhat silly way. The entire idea behind the site is getting rid of statements like "I love you more than you know" and replacing it with realistic, applicable things to really illustrate how deeply you feel for someone. How fun for Valentine's Day!
