For some reason, the smashing of wedding cake is an unofficial tradition that has never gotten old...But why is that?
It might amuse guests, and the photos may be funny, but brides take hours to get ready for their wedding day, which includes proper make up as well as keeping their gown in perfect condition, only for the effort to be spoiled by cake.
Or are we just being cranky? We don't want to turn into a bunch of Bridezillas here, so let us know what you think: Have you considered what you would do if you groom got cake happy with you?
We got to thinking about the least-romantic songs that get played at weddings. Those songs that get mistaken for "sweet" because of their melody or the wrong interpretation of its lyrics, but are really nasty... or actually about a break-up, or death, or a creepy stalker... you get the idea.
Here's a few tunes that we've heard recently at weddings that maybe should have been reconsidered. You might want to listen to them a bit more closely before you dance your first dance to them:
Every Breath YouTake by The Police Keep On Lovin' You by REO Speedwagon Your Body Is A Wonderland by John Mayer I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton (or Whitney Houston) White Wedding by Billy Idol Just Like Heaven by The Cure My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion Possession by Sarah MacLachlan Here's To the Night by Eve 6 You Are the Everything by R.E.M. I Don't Want to Wait by Paula Cole End Of the Road by Boyz II Men One by U2 Respect by Aretha Franklin
Which songs have you mistaken as romantic? Don't feel embarrassed. We know someone who only just realized that Little Red Corvette is NOT about a car!
