Wear TOMS Wedding Shoes, Help a Child in Need

Sep10

Have you ever heard of TOMS shoes?  They make great slip-on shoes... but more importantly, if you purchase a pair from them, they will give a pair of shoes to a child in need.  It's an amazing brand that has been making strides internationally to help the less fortunate.

News has come out that TOMS will now make wedding shoes.  So they're not the high-heels you know and love or the kitten heals that give you lift you may want.  However, these sparkly shoes can coordinate with nearly any dress and most importantly, help out a great cause.

Check out the TOMS site here for more details.

Check Out Dallas Officiants

Sep10

We just posted a new article: a guide to finding the perfect wedding officiant in Dallas and the greater Metroplex area.  It's the latest addition to our Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex Wedding Guide.

Finding an officiant in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex should be as easy as a day at the ranch, since weddings here are as big as the state. The only caveat is that Texas, unlike many less-conservative areas, doesn’t have as many non-traditional clergymen. (You can, however, locate them.) On the flip side, most weddings in this part of the country are formal, with an officiant of your chosen faith presiding. Read on for tips on finding the right person for your Lone Star ceremony.

The Pros & Cons of a Buffet Reception

Sep10

We just posted a new article considering the pros and cons of a buffet-style wedding reception dinner.

A buffet meal will create a far more casual “vibe” at your reception, and generally speaking will be more cost-effective than a seated dinner. (On average, a buffet meal will cost $15 per person as opposed to $25 for a seated dinner.)

Are Two Beds The Secret to Happy Marriage?

Sep10

Everything old is new again: It's the return of 2 marriage beds!

Or, at least Mail Online seems to think it could be: "The secret to a long and happy marriage could be having separate beds, an expert on sleep claims.

Not only will a couple escape arguments over duvet-hogging and fidgeting, but they will have a proper night's rest.

This will have a huge impact on both their health and the relationship as poor sleep increases the risk of stroke, heart disease and divorce, said Dr Neil Stanley."

Of course, we all know that there is no catch-all "secret" to a successful marriage, but it's always interesting to consider different ways to keep ourselves -- and our spouses -- happy...

What do you think?
