Counting down the days until your wedding? Make it a personal goal to get into shape while you plan the big day. Instead of giving in to unhealthy habits, work off your stress with a healthy exercise routine. Your bridal gown will fit better, and you’ll feel great on your wedding day and beyond.
1. Avoid soda and sugary drinks. This one is easy. By eliminating empty calories in the drinks you consume, you’re automatically cutting down your daily caloric intake. This is easier than it sounds. Switch to tea and if you must have soda, change to carbonated water with a twist of lime or diet soda.
2. Pay attention to portions. Don’t go on a diet. The last thing you need is extra stress in your life as you plan your wedding. Instead, simply make yourself aware of the size of the portions you eat. Try to keep protein portions around the size of your fist. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables when you feel like eating a big meal.
3. Get active. If you’re not usually into going to the gym, try fun group fitness classes with lots of music. Take a dance aerobics class to learn some new moves to show off on the dance floor at your reception. Grab a good friend and go for a long power walk. She’ll love the chance to get fit for her bride’s maid dress.
