It's that time again: Altarcations, one of our favorite wedding blogs. The gist is, Altarcations is feature at Gawker in which Phyllis Nefler reviews The New York Times' wedding section. It's lots of fun.
This week's Altarcations involves horseradish as a wedding trend, doing shots at the altar, cubs marrying cougars, dissections of "power couples" and a lot more!

Oh boy, it's time for one of our favorite wedding blog posts: Altarcations. For those of you who don't know, Altarcations is feature at Gawker in which Phyllis Nefler reviews The New York Times' wedding section.
This week Phyllis discusses more crazy Halloween-themed weddings. Check out that image, above! It's: Melissa Johnson, "known for her sardonic humor and love of dark, gory films and burlesque" was surprised when she fell for chipper Timothy Lagasse, an "endlessly upbeat designer and fabricator of puppets" who works for shows like Sesame Street.
How great is that!?!?
Other couples profiled include Jonathan Rich & Nancy Kelton (the same Kelton who wrote a pretty nasty dating book in the '90s -- so this is a happy ending for her!), a couple who met at an ATM machine, beautiful doctors and so much more.

Oh boy, it's time for one of our favorite blog series: Altarcations.
It's a weekly feature over at Gawker, in which Phyllis Nefler reviews The New York Times' "Weddings" section. And we love it.
This week Halloween weddings make an expected appearance, as does a wedding which was fully described before it took place (spoooooky!), the introduction of the acronym "LOB" into the lexicon (it stands for "Level of Brutality"), and a whole lot more.

Every blog in the world seemed to announce Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner's wedding this weekend. Ours didn't though, because we really didn't want to have to think about her annoying father.
But it's not fair, we know, to punish the daughter for the sins of the father, and now one of our favorite bloggers, Phyllis Nefler, has brought the whole thing front and center in her awesome, weekly Gawker feature, "Altarcations."
It wasn't all about Ivanka & Jared this weekend: Nefler reminds us that other people got married too! There's Lori Schulweis, the infamous production coordinator for Regis & Kelly, a real-life "Ms. Manners," and a couple whose "Featured Video" was actually watched by someone!

As a part of yesterday's "Altarcations" update, we introduced you to Leslie Sutton-Smith & Mark Blackman, who dated briefly in college in 1976, but had fallen out of touch since. After meeting again, decades later, they recently married.
We love it!
But they're not alone: Meet Diane Harris & Rodney Day, high school sweethearts in the 1950s whose relationship ended because of a car accident and a lie Diane's mother told! The reunited in 2007 and now they're married!
"We kissed and that was it," says Rodney.

It's time for this week's "Altarcations," Phyllis Nefler's Gawker feature in which she rates and reviews the weddings in The New York Times' Style section. We're obviously crushing on this feature. No, we mean it.
Anyway, this week Nefler discusses Jessica Valenti's wedding. But first, she rhetorically asks how many people know who Jessica Valenti is and why her wedding is especially newsworthy for some. Well, we do! We posted about it a couple of times! Go OWD!
From there she writes about couples reuniting after decades, couples with a lot more degrees than we have, an Atorney Generial, an heir to the Strawbridge and Clothier department store, and so much more...

Last week we told you about Phyllis Nefler's wonderful "Altarcations" feature at Gawker, in which she rates couples in The New York Times Weddings & Celebrations section. Let's check out this weeks installment!
This week we have politics a-plenty, with the Kerry and Bush families making surprise appearances, as well as The Times' "bitchy" layout decisions and so much more! Fun!

Gossip site Gawker has a Sunday feature Altarcations, in which couples featured in The New York Times' Weddings & Celebrations are scored and rated by Gawker writer Phyllis Nefler. It's usually pretty funny, and not at all as mean-spirited as our little description might unintentionally imply.
This week's installment of Altarcatiosn (we love that title!) featured that fabulous photo you see above, and included this letter to Phyllis:
"Dear Gawker,
On August 16, we were subjects of Phyllis Nefler's Altarcations nuptial scoring.
Having not met the other couple, but realizing we were in the same neighborhood, we arranged to meet for beers and bratwurst. It was quite an enjoyable time – visual evidence is attached. Many thanks for making the introduction."
We love it! This weeks installment also features other couples, fun photos and links to videos. Check out the entire Altarcations post here.
