Want to save a little money on your wedding? Consider a city hall marriage! Now, we know there may be some stigma, and stereotypes about weddings in a non-traditional reception/ceremony site but consider the following photos as proof. We now present the adorable wedding of Kelly and Peter, who married last summer in the San Francisco City Hall.
The bride and groom are dressed adorably -- seriously, we could have an entirely separate discussion on the bride's yellow dress in itself!
Have you ever considered a city hall wedding? Skip some the drama and have it be just about the two of you, and your lucky witnesses?
This is definitely a story about strong will and commitment! Adam and Ashley decided to hold off on kissing until they were officially married. The pair saved that all precious first kiss for the wedding ceremony... where their lips locked in one of the sweetest ceremonies we've seen!
According to Glamour Magazine, there is a specific roasted chicken recipe that, well, helps you get engaged! It all started when an editor at the magazine gave the recipe to an assistant who made the delicious dish for her boyfriend. Within a month, she was engaged! As the recipe was passed around from assistant to assistant, the weddings had been sparked!
Could it be too good to be true? The magazine claims that over 26 engagements (that they know about) relate back to a certain chicken dish that was made in the not-so-distant past. And just this very montha Glamour writer for the popular blog "Smitten" got engaged post-chicken roasting.
So while all of our OurWeddingDay.com brides may already be engaged (congratulations by the way!) surely there are friends out there in relationships who also want to get engaged. And who enjoy roast chicken.
You can find the Engagement Chicken recipe here. Pass it around... and let us test it for ourselves to see if the myth is true. I think I'll be making this dish myself in the next coming weeks!
What an adorable engagement story! Linda's friends insisted on going to a local art gallery to check out a Polaroid exhibit. After perusing the photos, Linda spotted a photo of her boyfriend holding up a sign that read "Turn Around." Confused, Linda slowly turned around to see her boyfriend in the window of the gallery holding another sign.... only this one asked "Will You Marry Me?"
Wedding bells rang for one of our favorite bloggers, Joanna Goddard, a couple of weeks ago as she married her now-husband, and The New York Times writer, Alex.
Both blogs host some posts we've shared with you here on the OurWeddingDay.com blog... including great wedding inspiration, adorable photos, and engagement stories.
We love grand gestures of love and romance... but does this marriage proposal possibly go too far? In the video above, a man proposes to his girlfriend at Disneyland with a full-on musical! While it is sweet how much he clearly loves her (they met at Disneyland one year before the proposal, aww!), we can't help but wonder how public is too public?
It's not that we're knocking this guy for his grand gesture... is it just us? What do you think? Would you want to be proposed to in front of a giant crowd of people you don't know? Is more really the merrier?
This may be one of the most adorable marriage proposals we've seen to date... and trust us, we've seen a lot. Nathan and his friends found a nearby forest with a grove surrounded by trees. During the day, they set up over 200 battery-powered tea lights and struck then all along the trees.
Later that night, Nathan met Katie on the beach to go for a walk. As they approached the woods Nathan tied his sweater over Katie's eyes and brought her to the lit grove. What is even sweeter is that once he uncovered Katie's eyes Nathan stumbled over his proposal because he was so nervous, and Katie simply kept nodding her head yes unable to speak.
Check out these adorable library themed wedding invitations courtesy of Diana and Scott, who coincidentally were both librarians when they met and fell in love. Everything about these invitations is too cute, from the library date stamp for the wedding date, to the reception rules and the warning, "Library is not responsible for lost of damaged invitations."
Lindsay had a rough day at work, so naturally she was hesistant to go ice skating with her overly-insistant boyfriend Kevin one evening. However, she got the surprise of a life as he twirled her in the center of the ice, and proceeded to get down on one knee and propose. Check out this adorable proposal story from Glamour's Smitten blog where you can check out photos (yes, he had photographers hiding in the bushes!) and hear both Lindsay and Kevin recount the night.
